Polish Cinnamon Honey Vodka Krupnik

1+

Our neighbor in Wellington introduced me to Krupnik. He is originally from Poland, and moved to Wellington as a refugee during the difficult time of the war. He likes making flavored liquor, and this is one of them. His version was using lemon peel, he said it was simply because he had a lemon from his garden. It taste good in both cold and warm.

Ingredients
750ml of vodka
250ml of runny honey
250ml of water
4 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
1 vanilla pod
orange peel, of half an orange or one lemon

Instruction
1. Put honey, water, cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla pod and orange peel (or lemon peel) in a sauce pan and heat gently, stirring, until it boils then simmer for about 10 mins. Turn off the heat.
2. Add vodka and stir well. Leave this for a few hours.
3. Pour it through a strainer to a clean bottle.
4. Store it in a cool and dark place for a week.
