Chilled Tofu “Hiyayakko”

“Hiyayakko” is one of the typical side dishes in summer. It is super easy to prepare without really cooking, healthy and tasty!

How to prepare
-Take out Tofu from a pack and get rid of the water in the pack, and gently wash tofu with cold water.
-Leave on a flat plate for 15-30 mins in a fridge. You see the water coming out from Tofu, get rid of it.
-Cut the tofu in 2-4 pieces in the size you like.
-Add some topping/ garnish and serve with soy sauce.

Topping/Garnish
-Traditional: ginger, chopped scallion, dry bonito flakes
-Sliced onion + soy sauce, vinegar and sesame oil
-Kimchi
-Zha cai(Chinese pickled mustard plant) + century egg (optional)
